How do you get the information about my patent? How were you able to notify me about my granted patent?
Patents are granted every Tuesday by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Grant information is available to the public. We check grant information every Tuesday and notify inventors by mail. If you have any specific questions about your patent, please contact your corporate IP department or your patent attorney. We are not affiliated with the USPTO.

I don't recall exactly what I ordered the last time. How can I make sure my awards will match?
Simply check the back of your award for our label containing your customer ID and the part number for the award you ordered. If there is no label then please give us a call and we can lookup your order history and help you choose the right patent award.
May I get more than one name on my award?
Yes, most of our awards have fields for you to enter additional inventor names. If you have selected a product that just has one field for names, please contact us to discuss adding additional names as the space on that award may be limited.

If your logo using a specific Pantone (PMS) color please let us know so that we can use that to match colors.
What is an Assignee?
An assignee is the person or entity to whom rights under a patent are legally transferred to. U.S. Patents are granted to individuals, however most are owned by companies. Innovative employees enter into legal contracts with their employers that requires the transfer of patent ownership from the individual to the employer. Many inventors are proud not only of the work they have done but also proud of the company they worked for. In this case, the inventor will choose to not only display his name on the plaque, but also the name of the company he assigned the patent to. If you choose "Yes" when prompted "Would you like the Patent Assignee (Company Name) on your product", the company named as assignee on the patent will appear on the plaque exactly as the patent was published.
What drawing will be on my patent award?
We use the drawing from the front page of your patent. If there is no drawing available on the front page, we use the first drawing that is not labeled “prior art.” Prior art is a figure(s) that is previously related from another patent. If your patent does not have any drawings at all, we substitute the 1st claim from your patent. You can use our patent number search to view the images on your patent. Once you have entered your patent number and clicked search, just click the red "Images" button towards the top of the page that opens with your patent details.
Can I get a certificate from the USPTO?
Yes, you may obtain a certified copy of your patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. They issue only one official certificate to the assignee or first inventor listed on the patent. More information is available on the USPTO's Certified Copy Center website.
